How Hard is it To Break Into the Nigerian Film Industry- Yul Edochie the Actor shares his experience

Popular Actor Yul Edochie recently shared his experience on Twitter about how hard it was for him to break into the Industry despite having a popular last name. Read Below

“In 2005 I sat at home and was begging other actors to recommend me to producers, of course it never worked.

One day I got up and started going to the producers/directors myself, offering to work for free just to show my ability.

And things changed.

I hope someone learns from this”

Several people resonated with him while some people refused to believe a man with a popular father in the Industry would find it hard to break in. Read some of the feedback from twitter

“Some of the story lines are missing.

Your dad could have connected you easily.

Your Surname could have sent a signal.

Anyways, thanks for motivating others.”  According to Mazi Uche

But Yul defended himself stating

“So I thought. I soon realised that the surname was even vexing some people.

I kept hearing things like ‘na wa o, bcos of him papa he wants to act too, make him come make am make we see’.

Bros I had to fasten my seatbelt and push hard to pave my own way.”

What do you think do you agree with him. Can you relate to his story. How hard was it for you to get into the Industry.
