Global streaming service Prime Video is stepping up its investment in Nigeria by debuting its first Amazon Originals from the nation and, for the first time, enabling users to join up in the Naira, the country’s currency.

The two originals, the action movie Gangs of Lagos and the unscripted show LOL: Last One Laughing Naija, were announced at the same time as rival Netflix unveiled a large selection of African movies, including Nigerian originals, and as Prime Video unveiled its first local marketing campaign.
