BBC Broadcast Journalist, Reporter (Hausa) needed in Abuja
We are looking to recruit a Broadcast Journalist (Reporter) to join our team in Abuja. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Role Responsibility
As Broadcast Journalist (Reporter), you will be expected to generate strong ideas around the key intervention areas of the project and translate them into engaging, innovative multimedia content (both in Hausa and English). You will be researching, scripting and packaging across all platforms. You will interview, present and moderate debates and track content performance on social media.
Frequent travel is expected.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in a journalistic role, with fluency in both English and Hausa. You will have a track record in field reporting experience, with strong communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of TV production and the use of social media platforms to drive engagement is important. A broad knowledge of the Nigerian media landscape is essential. You will also have a good understanding of production and distribution processes, techniques and technology.
