MultiSkilled Technical Operator / Videographer Needed at BBC in Abuja.
The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is a private foundation based in United States. It makes grants to support non-profit organizations in approximately 50 countries around the world. In Nigeria, its activities involve promoting transparent and efficient use of public resources in basic education with emphasis on the Universal Basic Education Commission’s matching grant fund and the Home Grown School Feeding programme. It is also bringing together regulators and other stakeholders in the electricity sector to raise consumer awareness and pilot new approaches to improving transparency in electricity distribution. The foundation is also working to promote accountability in governance. The BBC World Service is teaming up the MacArthur Foundation to produce and publish a series of multimedia content around these key areas.
We are looking to recruit a Multi-skilled Technical Operator to join our team in Abuja. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Role Responsibility
Your role as Multi Skilled Technical Operator will include utilising a broad range of skills in the areas of lighting, camera operation, multi-channel audio recording and video editing.
Frequent travel will be required.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will have demonstrable field recording experience using the latest technology and equipment. You will have excellent knowledge of camera operations and rigging and de-rigging skills. A good working knowledge of recording debates and town hall events, especially on location in Nigeria, is important. You will have an excellent command of English language; knowledge of Hausa would be a distinct advantage. You will have experience of working in a live broadcast environment with a broad understanding of operational, journalistic and production requirements.
