Job Summary:
<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Charged with end-to-end video editing, involving the assembly of recorded raw material into highly creative, world-class content in a variety of formats, suitable for broadcast, social media, web or mobile circulation and for all other mediums.

Collaborating with the creative team on the end-to-end development of creative concepts for the company and its clients, from ownership of the initial ideation and concept generation, through to the fleshing out and driving of the viability development, costing and actualisation of the video component.
Developing workflow and project management systems to ensure timely project delivery, and to ensure that creative and production teams are kept abreast of all editing project developments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Brainstorming with creative teams, including writers and creative strategists to develop solutions for clients, as well as contributing to the development of in-house content, formats and properties.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Organising briefs into manageable workflows to facilitate seamless editing and timely delivery of the most basic, to the most complex, post production projects.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Creating motion graphics and basic animation.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Developing, managing and overseeing an efficient quality control process and the Associate Producers and / or quality control staff.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Working on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>As needed, handling a diverse range of tasks including selecting sound tracks, researching content, conducting interviews, directing shoots or reshoots, re-recording audio and adding special effects.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Reviewing shooting scripts and raw materials to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Overseeing the orderly archiving of raw and edited footage, and management of the visual content library, including maintaining backups of all digital assets.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Continuously researching and implement new editing techniques, technologies and industry best practices to maximise efficiency.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Keeping up-to-date with new trends, latest and future industry software and tools and the most appropriate techniques to satisfy the needs of the company.

<!– [if !supportLists]–>·        <!–[endif]–>Participating in internal and external communications which may include pitch, email, group chats, correspondence, phone calls and meetings.

Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required:
Qualification in film studies, cinematography or related field and/or minimum of 8 years’ previous experience in a similar role.

Proven work experience as a video editor.Solid experience with digital technology and editing software and suites (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)

Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.

Basic working knowledge of camera operation, photography, videography, lighting and other aspects of production preferred.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Competent Internet, email and Google applications user.

Sound knowledge of the creative, experiential, production and entertainment industries within Nigeria.
