A&R Associate (Academy)

 

Mavin Global is seeking an A&R Associate to help manage and creatively develop our academy. The successful candidate will have strong personal organization systems to allow them to manage multiple projects to ensure that all artist plans are executed on time and according to plan.

 

Our ideal candidate has a network in and understanding of the media and entertainment space in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be a “builder” with the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and growing Company.

Here’s what you will be doing:

 

Partner with Director of A&R to implement detailed annual and quarterly academy plans reflecting music production, stage performance training, media training, strategy building, video production, photoshoot organization, styling and imagery, artist storytelling, and ad-hoc management services
Manage incognito/platform-wide release system
Manage recording system/calendar calendars to optimize studio and production resources
Monitor each artist’s social media and activity calendars and analyze engagement and followers’ data
Stay up to date on music industry news, releases, and events via frequent research
Work closely with internal and external functional teams to effectively accomplish our overall artist objectives.
Maintain and develop relationships with external acts, scout and research new artists, songwriters, and producers, that can collaborate with the academy and,
Coordinate boot camps and listening sessions with stakeholders and the academy
Organize initiatives that help showcase members of the academy
Monthly report on the academy development

 

Bring your vibe:

 

A degree in Business Administration or any relevant degree
Minimum 2 years experience in the music industry
A strong network of relationships within the music and creative industries
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple streams of work
Excellent working knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

 

 

 

 

KPI

Monthly report cards on the members of the academy

Improve listening sessions with stakeholders

Effective deployment of training in the academy

 

 

 

Regular Daily Recording (3 to 5 times a week)
Recording & Writing Camps (maybe once a month or whenever the need arises)
Studio Drills (timing exercises to strengthen writing & delivery)
Recording Training (how to take their own vocals) (once/week)
Interview Training (1 person/week)
General Performance Training (once/week)
Industry Sensitization & Social Media Etiquette training (every 2 weeks)
Social Media usage (once/week)
