DRAMA AND MUSIC TEACHER

Basic Job Description: Teach both theory and practical drama and music.

Job Duties and Tasks

Evaluate and grade students’ class work, performances, projects, assignments, and papers.
Explain and demonstrate drama and music techniques.
Prepare students for performances, exams, or assessments.
Prepare and deliver classes to students on topics such as acting techniques, and fundamentals of music.
Organize performance groups, and direct their rehearsals.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, and homework assignments.
Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
Select and obtain materials and supplies such as textbooks and performance pieces.
Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
Participate in school and community events.
Keep students informed of community events such as plays and concerts.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)

Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or a related field.
IGCSE teaching experience and/or certification preferred.
Eligibility requirements to teach both theory and practical music and drama.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
