What does a SEO Content Writer do?

Digital Marketing Skill Institute is looking to engage an experienced SEO Content Writer to join our team, the selected applicant will be responsible for content writing, copywriting, blogs, and lead generation. This role is majorly in-house and as such you must be experienced in online marketing lead generation.

At Digital Marketing Skill Institute, inbound marketing has been a big part of our growth and as a SEO Content Writer, you will have a direct impact on it. You will be in charge of creating optimized content pieces aligned with our overall company goals and objectives.

You will tell inspiring stories and will become an expert on the needs, motivations, and challenges of Digital Marketing Skill Institute’s audiences. You will connect deeply with our audience; turning them into loyal readers of our content, as well as long-term customers.

You will share our passion for skills-based training while staying abreast of industry news in the SEO/Digital Marketing space. You will work closely with the wider marketing team to create best-in-class content that drives both engagement and conversions.

As a role that focuses on managing the company’s content in other to drive both engagement and conversions, we expect to see the following duties and responsibilities as highlighted below:

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

1. Planning content marketing strategies and establishing short-term goals

2. Writing clear and persuasive copy for Editorial style, landing pages, blogs and thought-leadership pieces, copy for company divisions, products, and other teams.

3. Developing, document, and ensuring copy standards for official company voice and tone.

4. Undertaking content marketing actions to achieve business targets

5. Collaborating with design and content writing teams to produce high-quality content

6. Developing an editorial calendar

7. Ensuring deadlines are met.

8. Delivering engaging content regularly

9. Proofreading, editing, and improving the content

10. Optimizing written content while respecting SEO and Google Analytics

11. Analyzing and enhancing web traffic by using metrics

12. Sharing different types of content through various channels

13. Ensuring a substantial and continual web presence

14. Receiving customer feedback

15. Generating new ideas to magnify customer engagement


1. Bachelors in Marketing, Business Administration and Related Courses

2. 1-3 hands-on experience as a Content and SEO Specialist

3. Knowledge of web publishing requirements.

4. Worked on a target-based role and meet up with deadlines

5. Profound familiarity with various social media platform

6. Ability to identify and track relevant KPIs

7. Hands-on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics

8. Excellent knowledge in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

9. Excellent writing skills,

10. Excellent interpersonal and presentations skills

11. Hands on experience with email marketing

12. Ability to interpret website traffic

13. Knowledge of online marketing

14. Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver
