Content Manager Job Description

 

On behalf of a major market player in the digital marketing industry, we are recruiting for the role of Content Manager based in Lagos – Victoria Island. As a content manager, you are responsible for translating partner success stories into useable marketing success stories that demonstrate how client products have helped SMBs in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa grow for use in communities. Additionally, responsible for delivering the content for product updates and education across communities and additional touchpoints to support community and trainings. You do this by creating bespoke, transcreated content for key markets based off global strategies to engage in product education and further adoption.

 

Ideal candidate will have the experience with public relations, copywriting & digital content creation.

 

Success in this position requires creativity, innovation, and high professionalism.

 

Content Manager Duties and Responsibilities

 

As a Content Manager you will have to:

 

Use copy to tell the story of how the client’s platform helped different SMBs grow their business, own communities and/or profitability
Create monthly posts to deliver against a global strategy to keep members of virtual community groups engaged
Create assets / request assets of creative teams to deliver the best-in-class approach to engaging, sharable and actionable content online
Work closely with photographers and creative teams to deliver high-quality collateral across a variety of executions (groups, press releases, ads, posters, videos, etc.)
Share monthly reports in line with global frameworks provided; surface opportunities for content improvement
Manage web content updates that support marketing objectives. Gather, prioritize, execute and track changes.
Work with Content Management and global teams to localize content and transcreate for unique needs in the Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa markets
Consistently meet & demonstrate improvements in key KPIs for each group or program managed (e.g. increased engagement; member CSAT for group content, etc.)
 

Content Manager Requirement:

 

2+ years of digital content creation experience
Experience in copywriting, and public relations a plus
Has experience with digital content formats (gifs, images, etc.)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Fluent in English (especially written) with local language (Yoruba or Igbo is a plus)
Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in ambiguous environment
Creative and innovative thinking, willingness and capacity to create great content.
Passion for online technology with strong knowledge of the latest trends in online marketing
Independent player who also demonstrates team spirit and the ability to influence and manage others.
A solid digital marketing background
Skills and experience desirable:

 

Experience in fast-paced start-up / tech company
Knowledge of Photoshop or other creative software
Demonstrated capability of being a team player who thinks as a team and is willing to share best practices to achieve team goals
Holds a BA/BS degree or equivalent
