What To Expect
We are looking for an assistant video editor to join our internal content team in Fremont, California. You will be working with a passionate team of producers, cinematographers, graphic designers, and other editors to collaborate, edit and deliver original video content for Tesla and its external audience. Content types include web, social media, live event support and educational content.
What You’ll Do
Preparing and editing a wide range of content across a variety of camera formats and distribution platforms
Owning the post-production workflow from start to finish: ingest, media manage, edit, motion graphics, color grade and delivery
Supporting our video editors and working closely with producers in a collaborative space
Adhering to and optimizing team workflow throughout the course of a project: cutting selects sequences and dailies
Archiving, organizing and managing digital assets in a cloud and local library
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of experience in a full-time or contract video editor role
Proven professional experience within Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Davinci Resolve, Frame IO (or similar project management tool)
Experience and a thorough understanding of technical video information such as codecs, frame rate, resolution/compression, proxy & offline workflows
Experience in editing for commercial, documentary, social, events
Knowledge of captions and localizing content for multiple markets
Generate compositing, screen replacement, picture clean up, rotoscope, tracking
Understanding of optimization and best-practices for specs on social channels like: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram & twitter
Understanding of narrative story telling
Ability to manage multiple on-going projects at a single time
Ability to be flexible and execute on short notice
Can communicate valuable information quickly
