A well-established Startup fashion brand is looking to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Fashion Designer
Location: FCT, Abuja
Job Type: Temp/Permanent
Responsibilities
All duties and responsibilities are carried out within delegated authority under the supervision of the CEO/Creative Director. The primary responsibility of a designer involve researching current trends, crafting new product ideas, attending fittings, and preparing color boards. Schedule and organize things to ensure that projects get finished in time for meetings and seasonal sales. Other duties are;
· Creating/visualizing ideas and producing designs by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD)
· keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors and shapes
· Making up themes, mood and trend boards
· Customer Consultations
· Liaising closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item suits the customer, market and price points
· Understanding designs from a technical perspective i.e. producing patterns and technical specifications for designs
· Sourcing, selecting and buying fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments
· Setting up swatches and print packages
· Developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervising the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations
· Overseeing production
· Negotiating with customers and suppliers
· Performs other related as required
Strong attention to details and follow through are a must in this adverse role.

Requirements/Qualifications
· A degree in fashion design or in a related field
· Experience in sewing and craftsmanship is an added advantage
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills
· Intermediate knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and illustrator
· Previous work or internship in a related field
· Fluency in English(both oral and written)
