Full Job Description
Our Client is a brand new full service media production firm in Lagos Nigeria. Their specialities include but are not limited to, music videos, advertisements, films, and documentaries. We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Talent Manager to join our team.
As a Talent Manger, you will be responsible for sourcing production jobs for the company. The ideal candidate will be well spoken, confident, a good negotiator and extremely organized.
Overall responsibility will be to liase with companies, brands, and individuals etc. that require production services and secure production jobs for the company.
Set up meetings with potential clients or possible employers.
Must have a strong capacity for creative thinking and strong sense of confidence in communicating with a variety of different types of people.
Representing and upholding the reputation and interest of the company’s client.
Negotiating legal and contract terms on behalf of the company when securing a job.
Cultivate relationships with industry professionals in order to persuade them to work with the company.
Liaising with industry professionals and using those contacts to benefit the company when needed
Attending parties, concerts, and other events in order to network with professionals in the area.
Keeping up-to-date with new developments in the entertainment industry and finding out what productions are in progress.
Liaising between the company and the general media always having the company’s best interests in mind.
Creating advertising and promotional strategies, arranging the necessary publicity and promotion.
Promoting a positive image of the company and handling negative publicity efficiently.
3+ years’ experience working within the Media Industry preferably as a Talent Manger.
Must have established links within the media industry and must be able to seek out media production jobs including but not limited to (Film/ Music video production, Documentaries, Movies etc.)
Must have worked with international clients.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Must be able to provide creative guidance to make the brand more marketable.
Outstanding commercial awareness, confidence, drive, and initiative.
Exceptional negotiating and social skills:
Being able to network efficiently, meet new people, and building relationships with professionals in the field and being confident and persuasive while networking with potential employers and industry contacts.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing, in order to create a clear and communicative environment between the clients and the agency or the employer.
Being able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Being able to deal with a diverse group of people in potentially adversarial situations using a calm, polite, tactful, discrete, and effective approach.
Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and plan effectively:
Having strong multitasking skills; being organized enough to handle a number of clients at the same time; and coping with pressure and working to tight deadlines.
Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills: Identifying issues and resolving problems in a timely manner exercising good judgment and critical thinking; and being a clear thinker, especially when dealing with the media.
Self-starter, able to work independently and as team player, able to successfully collaborate across office and departments]
