POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Head of Paid Media who will be responsible for the planning, execution, and optimisation of all paid campaigns for Pulse and our clients. You will be highly analytical, with a passion for paid marketing and strong experience running and scaling all types of paid campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
Pan-African responsibility for developing, executing, managing and optimising paid marketing campaigns, incl search engine marketing, display, video, and social media marketing for Pulse and its clients
Full coordination responsibility for the Paid Marketing team – ensure internal teams align with defined processes, workflows and best practices
Maximise ROI for all paid campaigns, ensure client objectives are met and desired results are achieved
Define and measure relevant campaign KPIs, track and analyse performance, prepare reports and deliver sound recommendations to clients
Providing ongoing actionable insights into campaign performance to relevant stakeholders
Improve campaign performance and conversions by a/b testing different variables
Carry out keyword research, ad copy drafting, audience research, client/website research, etc
Work across different types of platforms both web and mobile, and different types of campaigns incl lead generation campaigns and landing pages
Setup ad support analytics, conversion tracking, remarketing and call tracking
Identify relevant influencers for client brands and facilitate brand engagement and ROI
Assist the sales team to create KPI led media plans for potential/prospective clients
Promote a work environment of continuous improvement, lead and manage team learning sessions and facilitate knowledge sharing on an ongoing basis
Stay up to date on the latest trends in paid media – platforms, tools, best practices, competitive activity with clients, etc – to ensure that the Pulse offering is always innovative and impactful

 

Desired Skills & Experience
In-depth and practical knowledge of various search engines and advertising platforms such as Google, Facebook, Bing, Yahoo, etc
Strong experience with Google Ads, Facebook Ads (certification is a plus), Google Analytics
Experience with social ad platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, etc
Experience with funnel marketing elements, e.g. landing page building, creative copywriting, tracking, analytics, etc
Familiarity with A/B split testing/tools and conversion optimization for advertising platforms
Experience with CPC and display ads for web and mobile
Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to clearly and effectively articulate insights and recommended actions
Strong bias for action and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent communication to relate with clients and project management skills to manage multiple campaigns
Great people leadership skills and ability to inspire confidence and trust to motivate teams
An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment with dynamic business priorities
